Worst dealership in the area, horrible customer service

Purchased a new fifth wheel RV in August 2018. Since then it has been in the shop for six months. The first time five months consecutive for minor warranty work, second time two weeks. Was not repaired. Had a reservation for a vacation that was made months ago and picked up to use for that. Found additional problems during that trip. Now is in the shop again was supposed to be ready yesterday. Called not ready . Don’t know when it will be ready. This is a shout out to anyone who is having the same trouble. Let’s meet at McGeorge in the near future in the front parking lot and let everyone coming in know why they shouldn’t be buying an RV from McGeorge .

*** service and *** management

Wife and I picke up our NEW Heartland Prowler camper and discovered that they had damaged one of the powdered coated panels on the front of the camper. Took them seven and a half MONTHS to repair it. They had the camper longer then we have. About two months before the warranty ran out the AC unit went out. I called McGeorge and tried to set up a date to have it fixed. After a lengthy hold I was told that it would be at least two months before they could fix it and by then it would be out of warranty and I was told that I would have to pay full price for a new AC. I called around and got an appointment the very next day at HAYDEN'S RV. Long story short HADEN'S had ordered and replaced my AC under warranty. They also put a little bit larger unit on my trailer and now I can almost hang meat in it plus it only cost $100.00 for the bigger unit. My advice to anyone that may be considering purchasing an RV of any type. DON'T GET IT FROM McGeorge/Camping World. You will save yourself a ton of grief fighting with these WORTHLESS POS.

We bought a pre-owned 2016 Rockwood Roo from them April 4th, 2019. The bunks are leaking while they are stored.

We have camped in it 3 times, and each time when we set the beds up, the 2 mattresses were wet. The fabric on the bunks is molded and Mildred. What do I need to do, keep a tarp on this camper all the time? They told us our truck would tow it.

WRONG. All 3 times we tried to tow it, the check engine light came on. Our sales lady told us the camper weighed 3900 lbs. The camper actually weighs 5300 lbs.

They were very pushy on this sale. We had researched on their website to see what our truck would tow, and it said no more than 3000 lbs. We go back up there to get out of the sale and the sales manager said that it was too late the camper was OURS. We had only gotten the bank loan, but had not signed any papers yet as it had only been 2 days.

We felt pressured. Then they tried to sell us a $7000 extended warranty package. Our sales lady was nice and so was the staff, but they have to be nice in order to sell campers.

I really regret buying this camper and yes, I feel like I'm stuck with it because of that 15 year loan. It's very disappointing to go camping and have to dry the mattress out before going to bed.

They Owe Me Slide Toppers and Won't Take/Return my call!

I purchased a new Montana in April 2019. On my paperwork it says that they owe me slide toppers that I paid for. They were supposed to be installed at the Hope Mills Camping World but no one will take my call in Ashland where I purchased it. John Martin is the Sales Manager that I talked to but he just ignores my calls and emails. I want my toppers installed!

ADA NON COMPLIANT

Would not make accommodations for us to shop their camper inventory. They expect you to drive a golf cart through their ‘camper lot’ that’s not possible for our family and wouldn’t work with us to find an alternative.

I Have No Complaints.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My wife and i purchased a 33ft Cougar. The salesman spent more time than i'm sure he wanted to and never acted like we were a pain asking so many questions and taking us back and forth looking at the same campers. Went back 2 weeks later to pick the camper which is the date we picked for orientation on our new camper. Owning several campers over the years, i thought this was going to be a waste of my time but Bill the gentleman who went over the camper with me, tought me some things i did not know and i thanked him. They also noticed something was not right about my hitch while doing my orientation that would have 100% caused my hitch to break loose one day and brought it to my attention and replaced it while i was there. I have read good and bad reviews on camping world but i can only tell what my dealings with them was like

Service sucks

Bought 2020 RV, have a few issues. Left several messages for the service department, no one has called back. I guess they got their money from us, they are not worried about us now!!

Great experience!

We just bought a 2020 Surveyor! Guiremo Mendez was our salesperson, and he was wonderful. He helped us find exactly what we wanted that was in our tow rating. And John Martin helped close the deal. Everyone was friendly and helpful!

The Worst

I am not even sure where to begin; I thought this place was bad before it became Camping World, but really, it’s a lot worse. You cannot get anyone to return a call, return an email, nothing.

Back and forth for the past going on 10 months now about warranty repairs and guess what, my warranty is about expire. There is a list of issues that needed to be fixed. They even broke a piece on my camper and have yet to fix that. There is absolutely no care about you or your problem as they have more things to do other than the JOB.

Where is the help? Where is the service? Being busy is one thing. You are not too busy to speak with a customer.

And of course the managers, well they are too busy with “meetings” to be bothered with a customer. It is also not a very good representation of the brands you sell if you can’t service them. Then again, it seems like the manufacturers do not care about the type of dealers they have to sell their product either. I should have learned from my first purchase from them in 2015 before they became Camping World.

Thought I would give them another chance/shot but I was wrong on so many levels.

I will also report my troubles to any media outlet that will listen as well as the BBB. Wouldn't even give them a star if I didn't have to to post this.

Product defective

Sencor lights not working, orher electrical problems. And when they instslled washer dryer, they cut hole in cabinet wall and left it that way, you can see outer panel of the 5th wheel trailor when you look back there; there is no insulation in one area of it, when there should be. They sell defective products! Dont buy any.

Hope folks get a clue about this place. Read the Google reviews.

Great sales team as that is their only focus. Terrible, totally terrible service department. you WILL have issues with any RV you purchase here and YOU WILL spend months if not years trying to get it fixed only to be left with a non-working very expensive product. Think about service after the purchase, you will NOT get it at McGeorge's RV/Camping World in Ashland.

Buy from a local mom & pop. You may spend a little more on the purchase, but they actually care about you after the sale.

Very BAD

I made an appt match 15. They promised it would be done end of March. Then they promised end of April. Now we are mid May and still not done. This is ridiculous. Last time I go there I see that a customer had an appt the end of March and it was done mid April. WHY I HAD AN AAPT MARCH 15 and still not done. Please people DO GO THERE FOR SEVICE. also they removed my previous complain. WHY.

Rodent infestation

On 4/5/19 our fifth wheel was sent in for a few warranty issues. The folks at camping world did some initial checks to make sure our concerns were valid. One of my concerns was the a/c wasn’t working properly . They contacted us to let us know the system was good. We obviously had power at that time. It has taken two and a half months to do next to nothing on the other small issues. Now we’ve been informed that we only have 70 volts in our rv circuits. We had no issues with that before they took possession . The service manager told us we now have a rodent infestation that has caused the electrical issue. There was no evidence of rodents when they received the unit. I had Tom cat rodent baits everywhere to make sure that wouldn’t happen. Two and a half months on their lot and good electrical when it arrived and now the want me to pay to fix a problem they caused. Beware of these crooks

Great Sales Person - Robbie Lyons

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Sales Associate Robbie Lyons yesterday. We were driving from two hours away and had several questions regarding a specific Class-A Coach before making the drive on a busy holiday weekend down 95. Not only did this young man answer all of our questions thoroughly, he went over and beyond by Face-timing and sending pictures of the ENTIRE Coach top to bottom. We drove down and he was with several other customers when we arrived. This young man bounced around helping multiple customers and managed to take care our needs. We were very impressed by his knowledge base of the Coach as well as his enthusiasm and energy. We are not normally impressed by sales people. But, this young man was something special. Seemed honest, VERY hardworking and trustworthy. Thank you Robbie for all of your hard work! We would be happy to refer family and friends to you.
